At what point in your life did you consider yourself a feminist? Was it an event or a process?
I read Sisterhood is Powerful at the age of 13. And was the youngest member of the Winnipeg Feminist Group.
Who most influenced your awareness of your feminism?
My mother who said I could do anything. Teachers who told me I could not be something because I was a girl.
In what ways has your feminism informed your life choices?
Feminism influenced my career choices, perspective as a leader, how I raise my daughter, what kind of man I chose to be with.
In what ways do you share your feminism with others?
In earlier days, via conversation, sharing what we read with friends, but today, I publish a feminist entrepreneur magazine!
Describe your vision of a feminist world.
A feminist world is one where women, trans, and gender non-conformists can achieve anything they want to achieve without being held back by social, cultural or systems bias. A world without gender-based violence. A healthier environment and society because I believe that if we all used feminism as a decision making framework in a variety of contexts consistently, we would be in a much different place today.
How I Define Feminism:
A movement that advocates and takes action to achieve gender equity and equality for those who don't have it--women, trans, and gender non-conforming.
